I highly recommend "Changes Treatment Center " of Pompano Beach. My grandson, Anthony, had the good fortune of spending a month and a half there at the beginning of the year. It was, clearly, a life-altering experience for him. I have been a mental health provider for over thirty years. Anthony had been in two previous rehabs and several out patient programs in New Jersey. In most of these rehabs, there was an over- emphasis upon rules and regulations (always challenging for an ADHD kid.) Although Anthony desired treatment, he was often discharged for a slight infraction. I also felt that in many of these facilities, although the staff had adequate credentials, many appeared devoid of genuine warmth and compassion. Changes stands out in sharp contrast to these other facilities. The owner Robert Buto, and his staff are amazing people. They are down to earth, warm and caring. I, personally, saw them go out of their way on several occasions, for the young people in their charge. You simply do not find this in other rehabs. They maintain a very positive attitude that is, somehow, contagious. During Anthony's second week in their PHP, my husband and I visited with him. We were amazed to see him smiling again with a renewed sense of self confidence and an enthusiasm as he spoke about his life, moving forward. We had not seen any of these things in a very long time. During our visit, Anthony described his fondness for and admiration of the owner and staff at Changes. "They genuinely care and treat us like family", was the way he described it.There is no doubt in my mind that something clicked for Anthony at Changes. I do believe that it has everything to do with who they are as well as their philosophy about the recovery process. Now, several months later, Anthony is back in New Jersey and continues on a very positive path. My family and I don't believe that any of this would have been possible without Changes. You believed in Anthony until he could believe in himself. He entered feeling like a piece of c___, and left feeling like a worthwhile human being. There aren't words to describe how grateful we are to all of you...Robert, Arthur, Steve, Shannon (Anthonys therapist), the fine and enthusiastic young staff that assists you and, last, but certainly not least, Anthony's beloved Diane. Thank you for giving us our son /grandson back. May God continue to give you the energy to do this important work. You are truly a blessing to all of us!!!

They showed me the tools to save my own life. The owner and workers truly care and make you feel like family, not just a number. I recommend this facility to anyone struggling with the disease of addiction.
